Induction Systems News

11/00/03: We are undergoing revision changes on all of our scanners. We are currently assembling 1 - 26" HD ProScan and 2 - MD Series scanners. The new design will have the following latest features:

bulletThe quench tanks will be made of 304 stainless steel # 4 (brushed) finish.
bulletThe quench tanks will stick out of the front 4 inches. The heater will be mounted in the front side for quick removal.
bulletThe gearbox will be made with all 303\304 stainless steel parts on the ProScan HD series scanners. NO MORE ALUMINUM!!
bulletThe upper center system will have stainless steel bearings and rails along with a rack and pinion for easy adjustment. HD series only.
bulletThe MD series scanner will be able to hold 60 lbs. on each spindle due to a design change on the gearbox.

Look for our new modifications in February 2004.

New patented Liquid Induction Technologies and Modern Equipment are the significant breakthrough in the heat treating and thermochemical processing of various steels and special alloys. The part to be treated along with an inductor is immersed in a cold Liquid Active Medium (LAM) with special chemical composition and physical properties. Surface layer can be heated to any temperature by high-frequency current induced in it. LAM decompose directly and only on the place where highly resistive coatings have to be created. These diffusion layers significantly increase reliability, longevity, survivability and effectiveness of countless metallic machine part by it protection against friction, wear, erosion, cavitation, corrosion and fretting. The surface layer optimum thickness and chemical composition can be obtained within time from seconds to minutes and properties adjusted for and application. The process is environmentally friendly and cost effective, reducing energy, labor, space, maintenance and materials cost.

Various microstructure have been created by this new technology: (a) highly wear resistive ledeburite; (b) highly anticorrosive austenite; (c) hard and strong martensite.
